Job Opportunities &
Workforce Development

During construction of the New Nissan Stadium, Tennessee Builders Alliance (TBA) will create economic independence for Middle Tennesseans by offering training and career opportunities on the jobsite. A career in the skilled trades can lead to long-term employment, higher wages, and a generational impact for many families.

TBA’s outreach programs will grow through and beyond the life of the New Nissan Stadium project, transforming the future of the construction industry locally and providing long-term solutions within the labor market.

Program Goals:

  1. Create individual economic independence by providing skills-based training for careers in construction.

  2. Help trade partners get connected to talent and retain and grow their workforce.

TC2

The Titans Construction Training Camp (TC2) is a three-week program designed to equip new builders with knowledge of workplace safety, construction math, and the ability to operate basic power and hand tools. Upon completion, builders will be prepared to start their careers in the construction industry.

Benefits:

  • Earn $18/hour for 100 hours of training time - 33 hours per week for 3 weeks

  • Receive individual educational support from a team of educators and coaches

  • Earn two nationally recognized industry certifications, National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10

  • Guaranteed interview with construction companies involved in the project

  • Receive a new set of tools, courtesy of Stanley Black and Decker

  • Opportunity to earn high school equivalency diploma

Registered Apprenticeships

TBA has registered a two-year rough carpentry apprenticeship with Apprenticeship TN and plans to register additional trades for implementation during the New Nissan Stadium project. Apprenticeships combine paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction provided by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) to prepare workers for highly skilled careers. A key component of each registered apprenticeship is a schedule that includes a minimum of three wages: a starting wage at or above minimum wage, intermediate wages provided upon selected milestones, and an exit wage when an apprentice has completed the program. This earn-while-you-learn system enables participants to move to the top of the wage scale in three to five years. Additionally, TCAT Nashville has funding to cover all education costs of the apprentice, making it cost neutral to the employer.
